My 2 year old wrote on his canvas picture I got from the portrait studio. Any suggestions on how to remove without damaging the photograph?

I went to a concert a few days ago and got a canvas tote bag and a white cotton tee signed by the band, and I don’t want the signatures to wash out. Will hand-washing them in cold water keep the permanent marker from washing out? If not, is there anything that will? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks.

I have just cleaned some oil paint off a canvas with turpentine, there is no oil left. I am wondering if it will be ok to paint acrylic onto the the canvas now that it is dry?

we bought a canvas picture from winkflash and my daughter decided to draw on it when i wasn’t in the room. i know it is my fault for leaving it in her reach. i had just pulled it from the box and ran to catch a phone call, when i returned the damage was done. any chance i can get this out of the canvas w/o ruining the picture?

Here I am with a very old pair of friends – my 30 or so year old worn, vintage, canvas Adidas tennis shoes. I got them way back in high school and wore them practically everyday for a time. I remember how I loved rainy/slushy days and how soaked they would get on the way to school. Then I would sit in the classroom wiggling my toes in my untied moist shoes and socks. If gym class was early in the day, I got to run around in them listening to that wonderful wet sneaker squishing sound. Then I would slip them off and wiggle my toes in the mandatory post gym shower. I like to do needlepoint and have gotten pretty good at it, and collected so many beautiful painted canvases and unusual threads. I’ve always filled the whole picture in with various types of stitches, but sometimes it seems like it might look better to just ‘decorate’ some of the areas with fancy threads and beads – because the canvas itself looks nice, or because certain shapes in the design might get slightly distorted if completely covered. I wonder if anyone has experimented this way, and how it would look, or if there are any websites with examples and ideas?

I’m going to take up tennis in the Spring and I don’t have any good athletic sneakers. What are good brands/styles of sneakers for people who are into tennis and running? My style is clean, chic, and a bit vintage. I really don’t know the first thing about choosing athletic sneakers!
